This text was further discussed during a teleconference of the At-Large Working Group on IDN Policy that took place on December 3rd 2009.
The first revision of this document (the present version) was prepared by James Seng and incorporates comments received from the At-Large community on the original version.
The Chair of the ALAC asked the At-Large Staff to submit the Statement to the Public Consultation Process on the Draft Topic Paper for Policy on the Introduction of IDN ccTLD on December 4 th with a note indicating that the document is currently undergoing the ALAC ratification process.
The online vote on this Statement ended on December 9 th. The result of said vote being that the ALAC endorsed the Statement with a 14-0 vote. You may review the result of that vote online under: https://www.bigpulse.com/p8273. A copy of this Statement was sent to the ICANN Board of Directors.
