Jian Zhang has more than 15 years of experiences in ICT technology. Her career track includes technical and managerial positions at GTE Internetworking, Nextel Communications and Cisco Systems in the US. In those positions, she has provided excellent technical expertise and displayed outstanding leadership capabilities.
Jian Zhang is currently the Director of International Business and Policy Development in CNNIC. In this role, her expertise helped CNNIC to re-structure its oversea partnership and advanced in participating in global Internet policy development. She’s dedicated to establish a strong tie between Chinese Internet community and international Internet community.
In realizing the importance of culture diversity, Jian Zhang is a strong supporter for Internationalize Domain Name (IDN). She actively involved in IDN policy development in ICANN, and was a member of IDNC WG in formulating policy proposals for IDN ccTLD Fast Track.
In addition, with her rich hands-on experiences in cross-culture communications, Jian Zhang enthusiastically participating in the global forum. She currently serves on the Board of the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD), and acts as co-chair of Policy SIG in Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC).
