Practical Information - Visas & travel documentation

Whether you need a visa to enter Belgium depends on your nationality and country of residence.

Usually:

• Australian, Canadian, EU and US nationals do not need visas

• African and Asian nationals require visas, with some exceptions.

This is only a general guideline however, and regulations can change. To check whether you need a visa or any other travel documentation, please use the visa tool on the website of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: http://www.diplomatie.be/en/travel/visa/visumNodig.asp.

Important: Even though you may not need a visa, if subject to a border control you will need to be able to prove the purpose of your trip and demonstrate that you able to support yourself financially for the duration of your stay (not applicable to EU citizens).

You may be asked for one or more of the following documents: proof of hotel reservation, return ticket or proof of adequate funds, such as cash, cheques or credit cards accepted in Belgium or a pledge of financial support.
