ALAC Statement on the Request for Community Input on SAC054 - Domain Name Registration Data Model

Julie Hammer, ALAC Liaison to the SSAC and At-Large member from the Asian, Australasian and Pacific Islands Regional At-Large Organization (APRALO), composed an initial draft of this Statement [PDF, 436 KB] after discussion of the topic within At-Large and discussion of the topic on the At-Large Mailing Lists.

On 7 July 2012, this Statement was posted on the At-Large Request for Community Input on SAC054 – Domain Name Registration Data Model Workspace.

On 10 July 2012, Olivier Crépin-Leblond, Chair of the ALAC, requested ICANN Policy Staff in Support of ALAC to send a call for comments on the draft Statement to all At-Large members via the ALAC-Announce Mailing List and the At-=Large Technical Issues Mailing List.

On 16 July 2012, the Chair requested that the call for comments be extended until 23 August 2012.

On 30 August 2012, a version incorporating the comments received was posted and the Chair requested that Staff open a five-day ALAC ratification on the Statement.

On 7 September 2012, Staff confirmed that the online vote resulted in the ALAC endorsing the Statement with 12 votes in favor, 0 votes against, and 0 abstentions. You may review the result independently under:

The Chair then requested that the Statement be transmitted to Patrik Fältström, the Chair of SSAC, and Jim Galvin, the Vice-Chair, of SSAC.
