Advancing the Interests of Individual Internet User Communities in ICANN

All meetings are open. Public participation is encouraged.

ICANN's Interim At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) invites all interested individuals to attend a series of open meetings on 1 - 2 March at Rome's Meliá Roma Aurelia Antica Hotel to advance the interests of individual Internet user communities (At-Large) in ICANN. On Tuesday, 2 March from 14:00 - 16:00, at the At-Large Advisory Committee meeting, the ALAC will discuss efforts throughout the world to involve, and represent in ICANN, a broad set of individual user interests. Attendees also will receive briefings on and discuss key issues of interest to Internet users, including how to address privacy, accuracy, access, and use of the WHOIS database, and new efforts to promote user-friendly processes for transferring and registering domain names.

Break-out sessions also have been scheduled to address At-Large activities and issues in various geographic regions. Individuals involved in issues affecting Internet end-users in Europe are encouraged to attend the Europe At-Large Organizing Meeting on Monday, 1 March, 10:30 - 12:30. Those interested in advancing individual Internet user groups in the Asia/Australia/Pacific Region are encouraged to attend this meeting on Tuesday, 2 March, 09:00-10:00. The Latin America/Carribean Islands At-Large Organizing Meeting will focus on activities to advance the interests of individual Internet user communities in this region on Tuesday, 2 March, 10:00-11:00. Minimal translation services will be available for these meetings.
