GNSO Council Approves the GNSO Review Implementation Plan

Last Updated:

On 15 December 2016, the GNSO Council approved the plan developed by the GNSO Review Working Group to implement the 34 recommendations in the GNSO Review Final Report. The recommendations cover the areas of: 1) PDP improvements, effectiveness, and implementation; 2) GNSO Council, Stakeholder Group, and Constituency appointments, members, membership, statements of interest, procedures, and support; and 3) Working Group performance, participation, meeting tools, self-evaluation, outreach, volunteers, and leadership. The Implementation Plan suggests a 3-phased prioritization approach and specifies for each recommendation its dependencies, owner, resource requirements, budget effects, and implementation steps. The ICANN Board will now consider the proposed implementation plan for adoption. Following approval by the ICANN Board, the GNSO Review Working party will execute and oversee the implementation, provide the GNSO Council with regular status update, and identify any questions and/or concerns that may have arisen. December 2018 is the target for completing the implementation. Learn more about the Implementation Plan
