Well, your our leader - do something. You own a TLD? And by all unofficial accounts the root is now seriously fragmented. China, UnifiedRoot, INAIC, PublicRoot etc etc etc. Its a mad jungle out there in name space. You have the technical expertise. You can solve it. Lets get those root server records analysed.

And what, might one ask, has this to do with assuring internet stability?

This is way, way, way beyond anything that ICANN should ever be doing.

This is social, business, and economic regulation, pure and simple, without any ties whatsoever to the purposes for which ICANN was created: the assurance of technical stability of the upper layers of DNS.

This isn't mission creep; it's mission leap.
