Re: [ga] sTLD Premium Names

Premium Names
Certain premium domain names (e.g., fun.travel and
convention.travel) will be reserved by Tralliance and
may be sold at a premium price through an auction
And what, might one ask, has this to do with assuring internet stability?
This is way, way, way beyond anything that ICANN should ever be doing.
This is social, business, and economic regulation, pure and simple, without any
ties whatsoever to the purposes for which ICANN was created: the assurance of
technical stability of the upper layers of DNS.
This isn't mission creep; it's mission leap.
