On, Tuesday, 19th December 2006, the Executive
Committee of the Board of Directors of The Travel
Partnership Corporation approved the following
program, subject to a thirty (30) day public comment
period and approval by the entire Board:
Premium Names
Certain premium domain names (e.g., fun.travel and
convention.travel) will be reserved by Tralliance and
may be sold at a premium price through an auction
methodology. Prior to the sale of any premium name,
Tralliance will obtain TTPC's approval of the name(s)
to be sold.

I have the following questions:
1. Did the entire Travel Partnership Corp. Board
finally approve the program? There is no mention of
this detail on the website.
2. What names were reserved? Where is the authorized
list of reserved names published?
3. What is the auction methodology being used? Where
are details of the auction process posted?
4. Why wasn't this proposed program vetted by way of
the Registry Services Evaluation Process? -- see
http://www.icann.org/registries/rsep/
5. Does the current sTLD contract allow for this
initiative without the need to invoke the RSEP?
6. At the very least, wouldn't this initiative
require an ICANN-authorized modification to the
.travel Appendix 6 Schedule of Reserved Names?
As premium name initiatives can impact the registrant
community, any feedback on the above would be
appreciated.
