[ga] As Chair

Mr. Palmer,

Besides from opnenly and transparently on this list, did you make any
complaints regarding Joe Baptista's posting?

You can see what I am getting at. Is Joe's removal from this list due to a
request that you made?

You are important to this list. I do not agree/sanction/ or even like your
posts most of the time. But I like the fact that you may/can post here. I for
one will do what I can to maintain your right to do so. I hope that you see
that in all logic, if Joe is banned so must you be. If somehow Mr. Fowlie can
convince me that Joe should be banned then I am sure he will convince himself
that you must also be banned. That would be bad. Next would be all anarchists,
then all independents, then the Green party members.......
What I hope will come of this will be that Mr. Fowlie agrees that we would like
some assistance in creating a more productive GA.  That that would be good for
ICANN and our International Netizenship. That the best way to minimalize the
noise to signal ratio is to increase productive participation so that
non-productive has a reasonable ratio.

No, what happened is that Joe finally crossed a line and it was probably his
accusations that
Debbie was having an affair with someone.

Joe can get much, much worse than this, whomever suspended him spared us all
some real
vile stuff.

Again, the links below show what you are dealing with here - at least 2 decades
of this kind of
behavior:

The best situation would be for the GA to throw him off the list permanently.
How many
more chances do you want to give him before you realize that he is not going to
change?

I won't say more on this - he's gone. All I ever do is challenge his lies when
he tells
them, and if he isn't here to tell them, I need say no more.

Cheers,
John

Dearest Matthew and Joe,

Well it would appear that someone pissed someone off up toward ICANN bigwig
land.  Looks like the Patrick Jones scenario all over again. I had already
taken the appropriate action and censored Joe for naughty written conduct here
on the GA List.

Clearly Matthew posted the listed and referred to email. Clearly the language
used in that posting is not a per se violation of any of our rules as approved
by the GNSO, with Avri acting as Chair.

I question the legal advice that Mr. Fowlie must be getting. What he is doing
is exactly what Andrew McGlaughlan the Counsel for ICANN told ICANN not to do.
If ICANN censors and edits what can be placed on this list they become a
publisher. So now I guess Fowlie is our editor-in-chief and responsible for
content herein.

They invited attendance at a face to face. I will attend as sitting chair de
facto and will present your point of view if you would like. Although I must be
realistic and assume they will retract that offer.

I remain at your service here in the great southern California Home of ICANN.

Eric Dierker

I'll be the first to admit that I don't exactly hold a candle for Joe but that
was my email  ...  If there is something wrong in it (and apart from Joe who
probably has a legitimate complaint that I'm not exactly being nice to him, I
can only think that it is the last paragraph that might upset ICANN), surely it
should be taken up with me and me banned, not Joe?
