Patrick attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he obtained five degrees including a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
He has held research positions at Bell Laboratories, AT&T Laboratories, Ericsson, Huawei Technologies and has also been an assistant professor at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad.
He publishes extensively in prestigious technical conferences and journals producing ten such publications during the year 2007. His present research interests include radio resource management for next generation wireless networks.
He holds 11 granted and 27 pending patents with at least another 12 in the filing process. These are mainly in the areas of wireless networks and telecommunications.
He has been the Domain Administrator for the .TT ccTLD since 1992 and the Technical Administrator since 2006. He is also the CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Network Information Center (TTNIC) which manages the .TT domain name.
Patrick has been involved in the development of the Internet in Trinidad since 1990 and as a member of the ccNSO council hopes to use his expertise to further expand the benefits of the Internet to developing countries.
