It's probably time to start planning for the upcoming
ICANN Los Angeles meeting. Several questions come to
mind:

1. Who among us is planning to attend?

I'll probably go.

2. Can the GA obtain a room to hold a meeting?

For $$.

3. GA agenda topics?

ICANN's exclusion of the public, the failure of the ALAC.

4. Is there affordable lodging in the area?

Depends on your definition of affordable. There are less expensive places in the area - but they are all airport hotels. Don't plan on easy walks from other hotels, and public transport in LA is ... well it is LA, land of the private automobile (and don't expect free parking.)

October in LA in can be hot - it is the season of the Santa Ana winds (compressionally heated, very dry, off-shore winds flowing from the desert).
