Dr. Dierker and all,
Men and Women of good nature put others before themselves more
often than not. As a Marine reserve officer, combat veteran, I have
seen this many times. Self interest is a healthy thing until it is to
the
deference of the many in favor of the few or one. At that point self
interest is a danger and an instrument of hate, and sometimes a cause
of harm and even death to others. Such has sometimes been called
megalomania.
Self interest as a means of making decisions in an organization
is a very bad thing as it almost always leads to harm.
