I've never seen him post before either -- if he is a fake account, it
wasn't a creation of me.
In 2006, you evaluated the application of "Intlnet" (Jefsey Morfin) for
the Non-Commercial Constituency, see the attachment at the bottom of:
http://listserv.syr.edu/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind0611&L=ncuc-discuss&P=2174
or as quoted by Milton Mueller (from the last page of the .doc file):
http://listserv.syr.edu/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind0611&L=ncuc-discuss&O=A&P=2515
"My assessment is that we are looking at what one might call ?smoke and
mirrors?, a type of deception, at an ?organization? akin to Jeff
Williams? INEG that exists only in the mind of its creator without any
other participants as members."
Why are you suddenly a supporter of "smoke and mirrors" i.e. Jeff
Williams, now, when you were against it for the Non-Commercial
Constituency? And you suggested that the BC was "exclusionary" in your
post at:
http://gnso.icann.org/mailing-lists/archives/ga/msg07165.html
Keep the GA list, but create a new list for those not interested in the
"kook" aspect of this list.
http://www.answers.com/kook&r=67
"Term used to describe a regular poster who continually posts messages
with no apparent grounding in reality. Different from a troll, which
implies a sort of sly wink on the part of a poster who knows better,
kooks really believe what they write, to the extent that they believe
anything.
The kook trademark is paranoia and grandiosity. Kooks will often build
up elaborate imaginary support structures, fake corporations and the
like, and continue to act as if those things are real even after their
falsity has been documented in public.
While they may appear harmless, and are usually filtered out by the
other regular participants in a newsgroup of mailing list, they can
still cause problems because the necessity for these measures is not
immediately apparent to newcomers; there are several instances on
record, for example, of journalists writing stories with quotes from
kooks who caught them unaware."
Sounds familiar? Even former journalist Kieren McCarthy (now with
ICANN) slipped up when he was at TheRegister, and quoted INEGroup:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2001/10/29/ex_icann_ceo_outrages/
"We [INEGroup] again warned you over a year ago about most of these
problems, and all of them long before Sept 11."
Time for an alternative to the videogames and fantasy role playing, to
get real work done.
Sincerely,
George Kirikos
