Re: [ga] Chair election dates
To help clarify the record, i will second the nominations of Eric and
Sotiris for chair and vice chair, respectively. I also agree with the
judgment that we begin with a chair that has a 6 month term and a
vice chair that has a 7 month chair. I think the GA should consider
adopting longer terms for these positions once the self-organizing
efforts are accomplished.

Joop, explain exactly what you want me to do. What I have seen so
far and this is not a statement of fact, just the consensus I
believe has been reached so far.
1. Eric Dierker, Chair
2. Sotiris, Vice-Chair, although not sure he accepted the
nomination by Eric.
3. The term for the chair to be 6 months from a date that has not
been set yet.
4. it was suggested that the vic4e chair's term be seven months the
first time, then every 6 months after that so there is always a
month's difference so the vice-chair can facilitate the new
incoming chair.
None of those things seems set in stone. We may have to vote in the
booth or here on the list on each of those items so everyone is
clear about where we are. I'm not so clear on it myself.

nominations and then voting.
I'll oblige. Nominations for Chair and vice-chair can be made on
this list until the 25th of March, 00:00 GMT
All nominations must be seconded in order to be valid.
Acceptances must be received by this list at the latest on the
28th of March, 00:00 GMT
Voting (or endorsement as the case may be) will start immediately
on the 28th of March, 2007 at 00:00 GMT and will close on April 2,
00:00 GMT
May I ask Chris to tabulate the nominations that have been
received so far?
To increase participation in this vote and in future polls, I
would encourage all members of this list to register as GA-voters
on the www.pollingbooth.info site
A low participation is not going to help the credibility of this
effort.
