This is the GNSO council rule for terms, looks good to me.
   
  1.1 Election 
The NC Chair will be elected by the members of the NC by simple majority vote and will hold office for a period of six months. One renewal, subject to a fresh vote, of six months will be allowed. A retiring Chair will not be eligible for re-election for a period of one year.

time, then every 6 months after that so there is always a month's difference 
so the vice-chair can facilitate the new incoming chair.

None of those things seems set in stone. We may have to vote in the booth or 
here on the list on each of those items so everyone is clear about where we 
are. I'm not so clear on it myself.
