RE: [ga] ICANN Board unanimously approves .biz/.info/.org registry agreements by 13-0
Dominik, I already said it several times, but perhaps you have missed it. Explanation of votes has been done in several cases; it has not helped, regardless of how I vote. I mean, it has not helped here, in the GA list. There are certainly quite knowledgable people here, and certainly they should also know the basic rule of business: once a decision is made, take it, and keep on working. By going back to history, and why someone did something, you are not making any progress. As for the words below, I'd say that you've responded to your own questions, too. At least for me at this point this conversation is over. You've said your opinion, I've said mine. We disagree. Fair enough. But there's more work to be done in the future - both for making ICANN better, and for making the Internet better. If you have lots of time to spend on explaining everything you do, then how would you have time to actually do something? My understanding of the bottom-up process is obviously not what you wrote - and I am not sure why on earth would someone even think that this could be my understanding... veni At 07:00 PM 11.12.2006 '?.' +0100, Dominik Filipp wrote: There was a slight difference between voting in "capitalist world", and "socialist camp". I know what I'm talking about as I'd been living over 25 years in a socialist camp. The slight difference is in that I had no free will to vote for who I wanted to, unless I was prepared to be persecuted or to go directly into jail. Comparing this to over 90% of the GA responses thus seems to me inappropriate and mortifying for GA members. If in the USA the majority approved the war it was an expression of its free will, whatever wrong the decision might seem.
