Hello Jordyn,
In view of your commitments and your nomination of Jeff Eckhaus, I am
happy to second the nomination of Jeff Eckhaus to this task force.
Jeff has attended many ICANN meetings, and I expect that you will be
able to brief Jeff on the various discussions that have been had so far
relating to this PDP.
It is better to spread the policy development around a few new faces :-)
Regards,
Bruce Tonkin

Bhavin:
I appreciate the nomination, but unfortunately I think between
chairing the Whois TF and my other obligations, I don't believe that I
have time to adequately serve the constituency in this capacity.
However, I would like to nominate one of my colleagues, Jeff
Eckhaus, who many of you may have met at recent ICANN meetings. Jeff
has been tracking many of the related policy issues and I believe he
would be an excellent representative on the task force.
Jordyn

The GNSO Council has initiatied PDP-Feb06. The purpose
of this task
force is to examine the policy implications of the
registry contracts
and make policy recommendations in specific areas
covered by the Task
Force Terms of Reference. Each constituency may appoint
up to three
representatives to this task force, one of which should
be a member of
the GNSO Council.
Therefore, I would like to open up nominations for the
two open spots,
and the single council spot. Nominee's for either of the
"open" seats
must only be members of the Registrar Constituency.
Nominee's for the
"council" seat must be a member of the GNSO Council
(i.e. one of Tom
Keller, Ross Rader or Bruce Tonkin).
This election will be conducted on one ballot. The GNSO
Council member
with the highest level of support will be appointed to
the Council seat.
The next two highest ranking nominee's will be appointed
to the open
seats. There is no need to specify which seat a
candidate is nominated for.
For example;
Case #1
Nominee #5 (Councillor) - 40% support
Nominee #3 - 30% support
Nominee #2 (Councillor) - 15% support
Nominee #4 - 10% support
Nominee #1 - 5% support
Nominee #5 would be appointed to the council seat, and
nominee's #3 and
#2 would be appointed to the "open" seats.
Case #2
Nominee #3 - 40% support
Nominee #4 - 30% support
Nominee #1 - 15% support
Nominee #5 (Councillor) - 10% support
Nominee #2 (Councillor) - 5% support
Nominee #5 would be appointed to the council seat, and
nominee's #3 and
#4 would be appointed to the "open" seats.
