Hi all,
It is interesting to note that verisign has removed the requirement for
having them named as an additional insured or furnishing a surety instrument
to them.
It doesn't make a difference yet since PIR and others still have this
requirement. I am hoping other registries will follow suit

Subject: Important Notice - Surety Instrument Advisory
Dear Registrar:
We are happy to announce that it just got easier to become and continue to
be a .com /.net Registrar in good standing. Effective immediately, pursuant
to Section 6.11 of the .com and .net Registry-Registrar Agreements ("RRAs"),
VeriSign hereby waives Registrar's requirement under Section 2.13 of the
RRAs to fund a Surety Instrument.
If you satisfied this requirement using an insurance policy, you may remove
VeriSign as an additional insured party from your policy. If you satisfied
this requirement using a performance bond, letter of credit, cash or
equivalent instrument, the Customer Affairs Office will contact you to make
arrangements to return the instrument.
All other terms and conditions of the RRAs remain in full force and effect,
including the payment security required for domain name registration fees.
We are committed to working hard to improve your experience as a VeriSign
customer. Please do not hesitate to contact the Customer Affairs Office at
cao@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx if you have any questions.
Regards,
Raynor Dahlquist
Vice President
