Infact I do believe Chuck from Verisign was working within verisign to
try and change the auto-renew period process so as to charge the
registrars only on explicit renewal, or on the 45th day. It is actually
high time that this happened, considering that margins on domains are so
low, cash flow during peak renewal times always becomes an issue. I
still remember my first registration of shock when a wire I had sent to
verisign disappeared in no time at all :)
