One week ago the NTIA posted a solicitation seeking an
administrator for the .us TLD (RFQ closing date is 30
July) -- see
http://www.ntia.doc.gov/vendors/usTLD_RFQ_070707.pdf
I have been informed by NTIA Communications Director
Todd Sedmak that the DOC does not intend to pursue a
Call for Public Comments.
As this solicitation has followed a Sources Sought
Notice -- see
http://www.ntia.doc.gov/vendors/usTLD02_070707.htm --
the redelegation of the .us TLD is a possibility.
I would urge all interested parties to contact the DOC
requesting that a formal Public Comment Period be
established so that any relevant concerns may properly
be tendered and evaluated.
Contact details:
John M. R. Kneuer, Assistant Secretary for
Communications and Information
National Telecommunications and Information
Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce
1401 Constitution Ave., NW Washington, DC 20230
