Re: [ga] Let us try consensus/next vote?

The contrary issue is Capture.

Thank you for mentioning it.

I recommend all matters remain of list, so that someone in control of another space/booth/list does not capture and engage in unilateral predestined conclusionary tactics.

All this has been extensively debated before and the only solution is that an elected committee administers the voting options.

As the GA does not have this, a volunteer admin is now acting to reflect the different views found here on the list in the polling options. If the options do not reflect these various views, the whole list can act as a committee and correct the options and/or accuse the admin of the politburo style manipulation that you talk about.
It goes without saying that the administrator of the voting is not qualified to be a candidate for any election.

I recomment the dual chair role so one group does not capture the lead position of the GA but rather there is balance.

Balance also means impasse. When two chairs take opposing viewpoints, you guarantee that discussion never progresses to anything.
This may be what you want and that option may even get a majority of the vote.

I suggest consensus if possible so that logic and best arguments prevail over capture and personality.

Without conclusive voting, especially on procedure, those with the most time on their hands end up controlling the list output.
There are people with valuable votes who are not keen to raise their voice on this list or debate with trolls.

A show of hands is perfectly valid for what is after all a general assembly. It is the yeses and nos that are important not the actual definatve cast iron vote. Also it would lend a hand for leaders to know minority positions which may be more important than majority views.

They may indeed. But who is to judge that higher importance?

At the moment allow us to find out the wishes of the voters who want to participate in the election of a chair.

There are 25 now.

Don't let your vote go unused. The outcome should guide the next step.

The Booth is now open.

The voters have been alerted.
