Re: [ga] ICANN Board unanimously approves .biz/.info/.org registry agreements by 13-0
Veni, you compared ICANN to the way government works, not me. Your feeble attempt at changing that is really pathetic. We have been trying for years to get ICANN to change things and do what was promised to the Internet community. You cannot even pretend you had the best interests of users at heart when you voted for that. Your acceptance among the bigshots you were dealing with seems much more important to you. Yes, I directly call your ethics questionable. The reason for public comment is so that ICANN can see what the consensus is. Of course there will be times when you go against consensus, but that is supposed to be the exception, not the rule. You have never once answered the question, what do you describe as a bottom up consensus in regards to ICANN. You dodge that question every time it has been asked. You never represented the users of the Internet and you don't do so now. And yes, I do represent the opinions of many users. I am a small businessman who uses the internet to do business. Consistantly ICANN has favored large business over the needs of individual users and small business owners. You were part of that. You still are. Your arrogant attitude suggests every time you post that you know better than everyone else what is good for the users. In actuality, you don't have a clue and are rather ignorant on the sunject altogether. Ignorant as in not knowing any better. Arrogant in believing you do. Personally I don't care that you believe you are being personally attacked. You attacked the users by ignoring the consensus and voting against them. This is defensive on my part, not offensive. I'm getting really tired of you and Vint saying you are looking out for us and that you represent millions of users. It's a lie and the decisions and votes prove it. This definitely has to be taken to another level. Governments are not bound by agreements that state they must make decisions based on a bottom-up consensus. It is directly opposite of how government runs. ICANN is not a government Veni, so analogies like that only show you do not understand the process you were involved in. As for the other directors, it shows the same about them.
