I spent some time reviewing the GTLD-MOU Policy
Oversight Committee "Request for Comments" issued in
September of 1997.
http://www.gtld-mou.org/docs/notice-97-02.html
What a novel idea... simply asking people what they
wanted... and why...
The IAHC recommended these:
.firm
.store
.web
.arts
.rec
.info
.nom
One wonders if the GNSO will ever ask the public what
TLDs they want... I tend to doubt it.
