All,
IMO the Conn. AG is doing the right thing as yet again it
appears that the American public in a growing number of
states are very concerned with Google's lack of concern or
respect for their customers or other consumers in their
business approach and model and as such endangering unwitting
and untold numbers or consumers to perhaps significant damage
and/or danger as a result of what appears/may be blatent
and reckless disregard for same. Lets hope that this investigation
is significantly comprehensive.
And again, as I mentioned along with others multipul times
publically it seems that ICANN could have nipped this in the
but several years ago now, but for whatever reason(s) filed
to do so. Perhaps now ICANN can 'Step up to the plate' and
be more diligent and considerate of the public they serve as
again Google is a ICANN accredited Registrar.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has said that attorneys
general from more than 30 states have expressed interest in joining an
investigation into Google's collection of personal information over
unsecured Wi-Fi networks. Google is also facing investigations in a
number of European countries. In a press release, Blumenthal noted that
Google "must provide a complete and comprehensive explanation of how
this unauthorized data collection happened, why the information was kept
if collection was inadvertent and what action will prevent a
recurrence." The investigation will look into whether laws have been
broken, and also consider "whether changes to state and federal statutes
may be necessary."
