<P>Eric and all,</P>
<P>&nbsp;</P>
<P>&nbsp; All good points, but not really relevant to a 'New
Constituency'.&nbsp; </P>
<P>&nbsp;</P>
<P>Further and more clearly and precise, burt in simple terms:</P>
<P>&nbsp;</P>
<P>&nbsp; Privacy and Security are two sides of the same coin, as it
were.&nbsp; They are both intertwined</P>
<P>and have as long as I have been alive and in business an intragal part of
any successful</P>
<P>business operation or business transaction.&nbsp; Same is true when paying
one's taxes.</P>
<P>What is 'Needed' to be known but secure and private, can be known with
proper protections</P>
<P>of the parties involved.&nbsp; Digital Certs do not provide for that in
total or adaquately in most</P>
<P>situations as Verisign, for instance,&nbsp;recently found out the hard
way.&nbsp; PII is NOT needed</P>
<P>nor in many cases desired, for&nbsp;ANY ligitimate business transaction or
business operation.</P>
<P>One doesn't&nbsp;NEED nor should&nbsp;want to have your place of residence
to do business with you </P>
<P>or any other entity unless that business transaction 'Requires' a physical
presence to complete or</P>
<P>effect that business, and one certainly doesn't 'Need' to know where you
personally reside.</P>
<P>One doesn't&nbsp;NEED to know whom you personally bank with, or carry out
your personal financial</P>
<P>business or your personal financial status.&nbsp; In some states&nbsp;to
even ask such questions</P>
<P>as a part of a business transaction is against state statute and the FTC
advises against</P>
<P>giving out such&nbsp;PII information as do many other countries similar
government agencies.&nbsp; <BR><BR><BR></P>

<DIV>I have a client who has said these two things:</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>""I cannot discuss the deal with him because someone might find out about
it.""</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>""I can't afford to make that money -- the taxes will kill me.""</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>Now how can you make a deal or find&nbsp; customers or partners unless you
let people know what you have??&nbsp; Privacy here in this case is preventing
normal behavior and success.</DIV>
<DIV>On Taxes ,, He is correct, if you do not make money you will pay<EM>
less</EM> in taxes?????</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>Privacy and Security must only compliment normal behavior. If it alters
activity then it becomes a concern.&nbsp; If it prevents moving forward then it
is a problem and not a solution.</DIV>
<DIV>In essence: If you fail to act out of fear of the bad guys, then they win
and your privacy and security is useless. We all understand the prisoner in his
own home.</DIV></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR>Regards,<BR><BR>Jeffrey A.
