Marika,

In the questions and answers just posted on the topic of the bulk transfer of
names from Red Register to DirectNic we see the following:

Q.Why do former Red Register customers need to contact DirectNIC?

A.Red Register did not forward billing information to DirectNIC. Accordingly,
all registrants must provide updated billing information or transfer their
names to other registrars.

So here's the question: What happened to the escrowed data?
As there were two breach notices sent to Red Register (one in May of 2008, and
the recent final notice and neither one pointed to a breach with respect to
escrow obligations), why is the billing data unavailable?

In short, does ICANN have an escrow program that works or not? If it works,
then there is no logical reason for registrants to have to forward their
billing data as ICANN should have this data at their disposal.

Perhaps you could comment on this situation and clarify matters somewhat...

best regards,
Danny
