Declan and all,

  Seems like DOJ is wanting to over reach here but for the right
reasons.  How the desired collected data is to be used and
if such use will be delineated in the legislation being considered
is where the rubber will likely meet the road here, IMHO.

  What more important is any new data retention legislation
is for use's of bad actors by registrars, registries, ISP's,
IAP's, ect.  Recent events with RegistryFly, a ICANN
registrar, is a good example why data retention/escrow
is necessary.
