Let us be careful and remain courteous.
Assigning such base motives often reflects on what might motivate an 
accuser, rather than the reality.

The globetrotting and "networking" (always seeing the same people) gets 
pretty tiring after a while.

I have difficulty believing that such a meagre remuneration (is there 
really a $400 per diem?)   would provide the sole incentive for ALAC 
organizers to keep going and spend their valuable time on something that is 
only earning them opprobrium.
