ICANN's At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) will hold an open meeting at
Montréal's Le Centre Sheraton on Monday afternoon (23 June) to learn about
the challenges and concerns facing local Internet users and to discuss ways
of involving Canada's individual Internet user community in ICANN. Topics of
discussion will include designation of "At-Large Structures" in Canada, and
recent action on the proposed introduction of new domain names, privacy in
the WHOIS database, and implementation of internationalized domain names,
among others.

The ALAC is responsible for considering and providing advice on the
activities of ICANN as they relate to the interests of individual Internet
users (the "At-Large" community). To involve and represent the At-Large
community, the ALAC is helping to form local/regional groups to keep users
informed about, and engaged in, ICANN issues and activities that can effect
them.

Le Centre Sheraton is located at 1201 Boulevard René-Levesque West, Montréal
(Phone 514-878-2000). Directions can be found at <http://www.sheraton.com/lecentre>. Information on the ALAC and its members is available at <http://alac.icann.org>. Information on ICANN can be found at <http://www.icann.org>.

In addition to English, inquiries and recommendations are welcome in French (and other languages).

Please contact <committee@alac.icann.org> with questions relating to this announcement.
