Oh, of course. To avoid purchasing from a thief was the point of his
investigation. The original registrant had contacted support at the
respective registrars and was pretty much told by first-level support that
he is SOL.
It's one thing to say "this is the procedure". It is another thing to make
that information known to support drones or on the website.
This is typical of the situations that cross my desk several times a month.
In the example of trading.com, which was hi-jacked from Tucows to Enom, and
remains in the hands of the hi-jacker, the victim remains suspicious that
the indemnification process is merely an excuse for Tucows and Enom to do
nothing and leave him with no recourse. He has had previous unfortunate
dealings with courts and lawyers, and isn't the most trusting person in the
world.
