Registrars:

Attached is an e-mail related to proposed changes to the .net RRA.
Apparently, VeriSign wants to bring the .net RRA into line with the
recently-updated .com RRA. The changes are not extensive. Please post
any comments/concerns in the next ten days.

It is my sincere hope that this is the last RRA change that we are asked
to review for quite some time.

Thanks.

Subject: Fwd: Proposed changes to form .net Registry-Registrar Agreement

Jon:

Please find attached a proposed amendment to the .NET Registry-
Registrar agreement recently received from VeriSign and the note of
explanation from Kevin Golden, Associate General Counsel. VeriSign
asked that ICANN forward these documents on to the registrar
constituency for review.

ICANN has reviewed differences between this agreement and Appendix 8
of the .NET Registry agreement. Based upon its comparison of the two
documents and based upon discussions with registrars regarding their
concerns regarding earlier changes to the .COM RRA, ICANN has no
objections to the agreement posted here.

Since, there has been substantial opportunity for comment and
exchange on similar issues, I think a relatively short comment period
can be adequate to ensure any concerns are identified.

Please forward the proposed amendment to the registrar mailing list
for a review of the attached and request response to pritz@xxxxxxxxx
if substantive concerns exist. If no concerns are raised, ICANN will
notify VeriSign so that hard copies of the agreement can be sent to
registrars at the close of the comment period.

Please call me with any questions or comments you may have.

Sincerely,

Kurt

Subject: Proposed changes to form .net Registry-Registrar Agreement

Kurt,

As you know, ICANN recently approved a number of minor changes to
the .com Registry-Registrar Agreement. We appreciate ICANN's support
and cooperation in effecting these changes. We now hereby request
ICANN's approval of similar changes to the .net RRA. The requested
changes are redlined for your reference in the attached. I've also
attached an unmarked version for your convenience.

I believe you will find that the proposed changes are self-
explanatory, but please do not hesitate to contact me should you have
any questions. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this
matter.

Best regards,

Kevin Golden
