Debbie and all,

  Let me answer your last question first.  I have already
achieved "MY" objectives.  The GA has not, nor has
the vast majority of the wanting stakeholders/users/
registrants.  Hence why I am doing what I can to help
them for now and in the future.

As for your first question:  I believe there are no
political solutions to technical problems and only a
few political solutions that can be solved by organizations
without the independant vote of their members and/or employees.
Here in the US for instance, the Immigration bill went
down in defeat largly because of individual voters hounding
their representatives to vote against closure, ergo killing
that very bad piece of legislation.  My organization played
a role in making those calls, sending those faxes, and 
writing those letters.  We spent nearly $8m in that effort.
Money well spent and decided by individuals, not oreganizations
and/or corporations.  That is what working together with common
will can accomplish.  Thank god that immigration bill was
defeated!  

  So no, not nearly enough of my fellow Americans
whom wish to attend are able to because ICANN either blocks
that participation or ignores their desire to do so all together.
I find that attitude, no matter how it is expressed, chilling
and irresponsible.  This is not a political issue, this is
a people issue.
