I absolutely agree that it's a topic worthy of discussion and action.
With that said, I doubt that we could get a consensus of registrars to
take the lead on formally raising the issue at the Council. There are
those registrars that like it and those that don't. I agree with Palage
that any policy curbing the AGP should leave some room for rectifying
mistakes, registrar systems testing, etc. The proposed ICANN budget,
for example, provides fee forgiveness to small registrars who have a
deletion rate of less than 5%

I think we can all agree that the Add Grace
Period/Domain Tasting topic is worthy of further
discussion. I would like to see this matter addressed
by the GNSO through a properly-run PDP so that all may
profit from a greater understanding of the issues
involved, and so that a better uniform policy may
thereby be developed.
Will the registrars be willing to formally raise this
issue within the GNSO Council, or do we need to
petition the Board to have this matter formally
presented to the Council?
