Funny how the article doesn't mention how many companies won domain names that were not really similar to the trademark held by the complainant or how many companies are involved in reverse domain name hijacking, using lawsuit threats to get users to turn over names to them because they can't afford to hire a lawyer and defend them.
Notice how they also mention trademark owners should get first dhot at domains in all new tlds as well. Again ignoring the fact that more than one company may use the same mark or that those words could be used in marks for different categories filed by other companies in the future.
The IP interests through WIPOut have taken over namespace and plan to continue their control of it through any new tld rounds. This IS something that can be dealt with by ICANN except for the fact the IP interests have too many seats on the board and make it impossible.
