Seems some 174,661,619 from New.Net alone don't seem to share your
attitude that competing Root structures are "Toys". Also see:
http://www.new.net/PWC_NewNet_Enabled_Users_Attest_Report.pdf
and http://www.new.net/about_us_partners.tp
It would appear that many of those 174,661,619 are not aware they are
using new.net or what else it's doing on their machine. Especially
since it appears to be silently installed by Kazaa.

Yes if and only if you are using plain vanilla MS/IE with no update
patches. Most wise stakeholders/users learned that lesson some
2 years ago or so however.
Most wise stakeholders DON'T DO MICROSOFT.
Hence I am doubtful that very
many are effected by parasites...
Somewhere between 5 and 10% of all MS IE users have one or more
parasites on their machines.
Many of them are not aware of them, having had young relatives install
Kazaa on their machine without their knowledge. Deleting Kazaa does not
remove al the scumware baggage.
