it would appear that many of those 174,661,619 are aware they are using
new.net or what else it's on their machine.
why? because new.net is doing what verisign is doing with sitefinder since
approx. one year. (one difference: new.net does not alter dns responses...it
alters before a dns request takes place) if you make a typo you recognise
the new.net plug-in.
ever wondered why new.net is still alive? its the money from ppc and not
registration fees.
new.net is not a toy. icann's new wannabe tld operators like .travel are in
negotiation with new.net.
why? because there are already 174,661,619 which have their browser set to
new.nets version of .travel.
icann has the choice: select a non-duplicating (in regard to new.net) tld or
come to an agreement with new.net
regarding "silently installed by Kazaa": read the fine print before
clicking "okay"
