Eric and all,

Perhaps I am wrong, but I translate this development in meaning that
the GA is a private ICANN mailing list. ???

Maybe Frank, Rod, or the secretariat can clarify this and/or correct
me. If I am correct, than public participation

and oversight as well as follow-on transparency has taken a step
backwards. That's not good IMO, but ICANN has the

right to manage it's resources to include the GA list in any manner it so
desires. It would have been nice and perhaps

more appropriate if some sort of announcment preceeding this 'information'
to the GA list members/subscribers

would have been provided, if what your saying below Eric, is
correct.

Well it is basically official from "the Office" of ICANN Ombudsman. The
Ombudsman has the authority to ban people from the GA. But no one in the GA has
the right to complain.

Let me try to be accurate here. Mr. Fowlie does not handle
complaints from the GA from me. However Mr. Fowlie edits the participation in
the GA. There is no person from ICANN that handles the GA. But so far we know
that Kent Crispin, Patrick Jones and Frank Fowlie can censor the GA. Their
method of censorship is not content but individually oriented. They do not ban
works but people. Historically this not a normal approach. Under the
conventions set forth in the United Nations General Assembly 1948, we may ban
words but not Ideas and certainly not people.

In all fairness I was told that I could write to the CEO of ICANN care of
the Secretary of the BoD. I was told that I could complain through the
office of the Ombudsman. But that is pure silliness: Ombudsman deal with 3rd
parties and the CEO is a member of this list.

So the last I heard from the Ombudsman was that he did not have a problem
and so therefor neither did I and so therefor he unilaterally cancelled our
meeting.
