Thanks Elisabeth,

In this case Milton sure helped me out to understand.

Do you think EU - EC are going to have a good working model we can get behind?

I agree with your take on our general dislike for the whole business, but what
the heck.

I liked this one today:

If you are willing to take the punishment, you're halfway through the battle.
That the issues may be trivial, the battle ugly, is another point.

The precedence was drafted three years ago, by Becky Burr and Marilyn Cade,
with a proposal for G15 - Residual Governmental Authority Over the Root
http://internetgovernance.org/pdf/burr-cade.pdf

Viviane Reding' note with her own G12 concept

The follow up is here:

I think the recent Chinese comment (in totally different field) fits well into
Internet governance "We hate you guys but there is nothing much we can
do".

Kind regards,

Elisabeth Porteneuve

I like terms such as "military intelligence" "incentivize"
"a backward thrust" "less is more"

But thissy here takes the cake. "privitize" with a court and every
government in the world overseeing. Find it at our esteemed Circle ID:
http://www.circleid.com/posts/20090504_eu_calls_for_full_privatization_of_icann/

""""She outlines a new Internet Governance model which
includes a fully private and accountable ICANN, accompanied by an independent
judicial body, as well as a "G12 for Internet Governance"—a
multilateral forum for governments to discuss general internet governance policy
and security issues. """"

Maybe I overreached on the "every government" maybe it is more elite.
