True, that $1 per 1000 requests is a wee bit high, but enterprise quality DNS from UltraDNS isn't cheap. ;) I'm aware there are much less expensive alternatives like:

I'd argue it was overpriced

Costing DNS based on the number of queries works fine if you're selling it on, but if you run a registry or registrar those are not a true reflection of your costs
