All,

Finally a good move by ICANN. Unfortunately it's too little
far too late. Typical of ICANN, as we all know. My question
again to ICANN officials is over three years ago when registrants,
non-registrants users were complaining and providing copious
evidence of this and other errant Registrars, when and how soon
will those already damaged by this and other still unaddressed
ICANN Accredited registrars, be financially compensated by
ICANN and/or ICANN officials? My guess as to an answer
by ICANN will be never or no comment. If so, in our members
opinion, it is high time that a broad in depth investigation
be opened by the USDOJ into ICANN's business and policy practices.

Alas, I nor any other realistic person, American or non American
alike, are under any delusion that such an investigation will ever be
conducted, even though the empirical evidence mounts as to the
need for same and has sense 1999.

(October 29 & 30, 2008)
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) says
that EstDomains' registrar accreditation will be revoked on November 12.

EstDomains is a domain name registrar that is known to register shady
domains used in the commission of cybercrime. The reason given for the
revocation is that company president Vladimir Tsastsin was convicted in
an Estonian court on credit card fraud charges. Many domain names
registered by EstDomains have been used in spam, phishing, malware
spreading and drug sale schemes. US network provider Intercage also
ended its contract with EstDomains when it was faced with termination
of service from its upstream providers for similar reasons.
Update: The revocation has been temporarily stayed while ICANN hears
EstDomains' response to the charges against Tsastsin.
