Jefsey and all,

I and our members may agree with what you are trying to
accomplish, and many do, but the IETF isn't really the avenue
to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish. Separate
efforts by many standards organizations as you know have been
ongoing for many years. Some garner significant support, others
do not. I also am not always in agreement with the IETF's
methods or process, but overall, the IETF has done a pretty
good job, all be it that the IETF is often times far behind the
technology curve. Also yet, I agree that effectively and operationally
"Legacy" DNS is broken or at least dangerous. Even amateur
hackers can cut it to pieces without too much problem or effort.
But this was known, although kept quiet sense 1996.

DNS in it's current broadly used form, has been a known flawed
product for many years, and denial of such has also been fairly
well shared. This remains so, but some effort by the IETF on
addressing well known and long known DNS problems/flaws,
is better than none. I would agree that the effort in such a overly
politically charged environment as the IETF has become, may not
render a significantly better DNS. That's life. Other already DNS
methodologies realized in implement products that are inter operable
with what is normally referred to as "Legacy" DNS are available,
but for a price.

So all this said, may I again suggest you drop your appeal
as you will likely only be disappointed as to the result, and
seek another avenue to achieve your goals for DNS.

And finally, the ALAC being the Club that it has become,
has no REAL leadership, it does have wana-be's however...
The ALAC cannot represent users or users-DN holders as
it isn't open and transparent, and especially isn't accountable.
