All,
Seems that the RIAA, a predominant member of ICANN's
IPC is yet again devising a bullying stratagy.
See:

Our members view remains unchanged given this news. It essentially is,
"Bugger off"!
As has been shown in University of Maine, California, and Oregon the
big bad RIAA
is going to continue to face more a more resistance to their cyber
bullying!
Seems to me that even some 3rd year law students at the U Maine are
giving
the RIAA a sound thrashing and deservidly so.

NewYorkCountryLawyer writes "The RIAA just can't get enough of going
after University of Maine students, but it appears that the judges in
Portland, Maine, may be getting wise to the industry's lawyers' antics.
RIAA counsel submitted yet another ex parte discovery order to the Court
('ex parte' meaning 'without notice'), in BMG v. Does 1-11, but
http://recordingindustryvspeople.blogspot.com/2008/05/riaa-brings-third-proc
eeding-against.html
this time the judge refused to sign, pointing out that there is no
emergency since
http://www.ilrweb.com/viewILRPDF.asp?filename=bmg_does1-11_080529OrderReserv
eRulingExParteMotion there is no evidence that >records are about to be
destroyed [PDF].
This is the same judge who has previously
http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/01/29/2230246&tid=123
suggested the imposition of Rule 11 sanctions against the RIAA lawyers,
http://www.p2pnet.net/story/14814 accusing them of gamesmanship."
As congress finishes the final touches on the "Cyber Bullying"
legislation, which purposfully
include these sorts of tactics from organizations like the RIAA and MPAA
in particular, we
look forward to more legal tools to deal with these bullies.
So again we call on ICANN to revoke the RIAA's membership to the IPC!
