[council] Hotel for ICANN 42 in Singapore

Thanks to Han Chuan who alerted me that ICANN has posted hotel and venue 
information on the website, I thought I'd take a few minutes to answer a couple 
of questions I've received about the hotel :)
 
If you possibly can, get a deluxe room in the South Tower of the Fairmont (a 
smaller, somewhat more exclusive hotel than the Swissotel). The older rooms in 
the North Tower really aren't in the same league. The renovated rooms on the 
higher floors of the Swissotel are pretty nice too, and have the advantage of 
better views because of their elevation. Both hotels offer city and harbor 
views - no prizes for guessing which you should choose :) 
 
Both are also connected to the Convention Center so you don't have to leave the 
complex to attend meetings. The complex also contains a large shopping mall, 
with a supermarket in the basement and plenty of cafes and affordable 
restaurants. There are a few okay-to-very-good bars in both hotels as well as 
the mall, and a couple of excellent high-end restaurants too. Oh, and a subway 
station beneath plus at least four taxi stands (though don't try getting a cab 
during rush hour or a rainstorm unless you're very patient as the complex is 
smack-dab in the middle of the city!)
 
Several other excellent hotels in different price ranges are within a 
reasonable walk (from 2-20 minutes) from the Convention Center. I'm happy to 
give folks the low down on these - just ask!
