There is not so much of a thin line between monitoring and publishing. (note that publishing holds one out to liability for what is published). The very general test between the two is the amount of control over what is republished. We do not want to be a publisher.

OTOH the list must run smoothly and be somewhat free of verbal abuse and inundation. Happily this can be judged by an individual with experience and knowledge in this area.
I abhor censorship, but I believe we are all responsible for our words. For instance I place a lot of private mail regarding this list, however my mail is always welcome to be re posted here and made public, I take full responsibility for words I use.

Therefor I have sought out and obtained a person who can walk this line and keep us running smoothly. He has been here since before there was a here.

So I am pleased to announce Dr. Joe Babtista as our new list monitor. Feel free to give advice to him as to what you like and do not like. Please keep in mind that comments to him in this capacity should be open and transparent and kept on the open list, undue influence would be inappropriate.

  Eric
