Dr. Dierker and all,

  Yes.  and in fact if you read the article fully, these sorts of
DDos attacks have already occurred.  What was not outlined
in the article was that ICANN, its registries, the IANA,
have not implemented IpSEC, nor DNSSEC and the
use of "Anycast" on root servers is not a wise idea for
obvious reasons which were mentioned in the article very
briefly...
