Patrick Vande Walle reports:

"The ITU has just published an ITU-T Recommendation
number E.910 regarding procedures for the registration
of names under the domain ".INT". (
http://www.itu.int/md/meetingdoc.asp?type=mitems&lang=e&parent=T05-SG02-051206-TD-GEN-0106
) The registry for the INT domain is currently the
IANA directly. The ITU suggests in its document a
registrar/registry model."

An evaluation of the ITU document reveals that this is
a rather important development as it indicates that
the ITU has chosen to respond to some of the needs
expressed during the WIPO-2 process (i.e., regarding
the use of acronyms).

It would be nice to see ICANN and the ITU
collaborating with each other...
