>From the registrars list:

Q1.2 Why is it appropriate for VeriSign to be allowed
to raise its prices by up to 7% per year?

A1.2 In order to provide for a transition to allowing
market forces to determine prices, ICANN and VeriSign
agreed to relax the current price cap, which has
remained unchanged since ICANN came into existence, on
a graduated basis

----------------

.and the price of every piece of technology in
existence in1998 has plummeted. The notion that
performing a data processing task in 2005
substantially identical to the same data processing
task on a per unit basis performed in 1998 would be
*more* costly is a proposition that could only be
believed by an idiot.

Why did the same "market forces", as opposed to
backroom collusion over the ICANN board's expressed
delusions of grandeur, result in a reduction of the
price of .net?

Is .net in some "other" market?

The statement above is such a transparent insult to
the intelligence of any thinking person that it is not
worthy of dignified comment. My questions to the
author are, "How do you sleep at night?" and "Are you
the person you want your children to become?"
