Why would people wish to waste time posting to a list where a single

May be because every "open" list is quickly occupied by Jim Fleming,
Joe Baptista, Jeff Williams and a few others which have nothing else
to do in life than sending a lot of very verbose messages about any
subject?

Read the archives of the GA mailing list for, say, one year. If you do
not read the net.trolls mentioned above, what is left?

Hmmmm... seems to me I've posted in the last year, Richard Henderson, John Palmer and many other true stakeholders in the internet community. Since I send trolls to /dev/null I don't even see them, so I can honestly say that I've read many messages from posters who are not your typical troll.

If I can filter trolls, so can anyone else. The value of a discussion list is the fact that it is, in fact, *open* and does not have a single biased moderator who can, at his or her sole discretion, prevent posts from being published. You may not value free speech, but many of us do.

Regards,

Leah
