        Hi

Ok, the dates in the action plan and motion need tweaking
(process doc is unaffected). If apps are due the 7th and Council
selections are due the 17th,

*When shall we say SGs must get in their nominations? The 10th,
after constituency day?
*Evaluation Team to submit its analysis to Council 14th? (gives
them two days after the meeting)
*Special Council call for the vote on the 15th? (We might want
some wiggle room before the endorsement deadline in the event the first
round results in inadequate diversity and the ET needs a day or two to
work something out in consultation with the SGs)

The application deadline will be 7 March (not 7 Feb) and the GNSO
endorsement deadline will be 17 March, the Wednesday after the Nairobi
meetings.

Many thanks for your reactions, I would like to confirm
that we'll surely organize this extension, which will be announced
tomorrow. The announcement will only mention the closing date for
sending in applications, while there will be no mention to the deadline
for SO/ACs to send their endorsement, as to avoid misunderstandings.
The date of 7th February was proposed by GNSO so as the
Council can consider candidatures while in Nairobi, with the request to
not delay it any further, while Chris underlines the value of Nairobi
for the identification of candidates.
I think that both remarks are fully legitimate, even if
your different needs make it difficult to find a compromise. If you'll
be able to find a solution which works better for the whole of you along
the lines that we discussed, please let me know by tomorrow mid morning
CET, otherwise I will proceed with the announcement; the new deadline(s)
-subject to final green light from Selectors- will therefore be:
                * 7 March - deadline for candidatures to be sent to the
general email address
                * 17 March - deadline for the SO/ACs to provide the
'endorsement' of candidatures
Obviously, staff will forward you all applications
received mentioning your respective SO/ACs as already agreed.
                Best regards

                Marco,

I will go with this if CLO and Chuck are fine. The only
point I would make is that the 7th means no opportunity to discuss
candidature, encourage good people etc actually in person at ICANN
meeting.

Chris, Cheryl, GNSO suggested a third option, namely
                * 7 March - deadline for candidatures to be sent to the
general email address
                * 17 March - deadline for the Council to provide the
'endorsement' of candidatures
This is not really dissimilar from what preferred by
ALAC (7-15).
Unless you have strong preferences for your suggestion,
I would go for this option.
                Thanks

                Marco,

I think that the opportunity to discuss in Nairobi is
likely to be the best that can be done to get good people to volunteer.
For that reason I'd suggest the later deadline.

However to allow enough time for nominations to be
endorsed straight after the ICANN meeting whilst people are still
travelling, I'd recommend that the deadline for candidatures be 11th and
for endorsement 17th.

                Cheers,

Chris, in agreement with Janis and Peter I would like to
explore with you if a further and consistent extension of the
applications for membership in the first Review Team could alleviate
your time pressure and result in a higher number of qualified
candidatures.
The new deadlines can be as follows (two alternative
hypothesis):
                * 7 March - deadline for candidatures to be sent to the
general email address
                * 15 March - deadline for ccNSO to provide the
'endorsement' of candidatures
                OR
                * 13 March - deadline for candidatures to be sent to the
general email address
                * 17 March - deadline for ccNSO to provide the
'endorsement' of candidatures
Please let me know as soon as possible what is your
preferred option, and feel free to share this email internally
                Best regards
